A Close Look at the Inside of the EVSE Industry

The electric vehicle service equipment (EVSE) industry is at a critical juncture, driven by the rapid adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) and the pressing need for a robust and reliable charging infrastructure. As the number of EVs on the road continues to grow, ensuring charger reliability and uptime has become essential to enhancing the overall EV-owner experience. Recognizing the importance of this sector, SkillFusion is dedicated to addressing these challenges by increasing the number of certified labor technicians needed to maintain and repair EVSE technology.

As partners, SEMA Education and SkillFusion have launched a three-part virtual education series that addresses the state and opportunities of the EVSE industry. Titled “Powering Tomorrow: Unveiling the Future of Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure,” the joint webinar series that addresses the state and opportunities of the EVSE industry.

Led by SkillFusion co-founder and president, Rue Phillips, alongside Mark LaNeve, chairman of Franchise Equity Partners (FEP), the first session provided attendees with a deep dive into the current landscape of the EVSE industry, offering valuable insights into market dynamics, technological advancements, regulatory frameworks, and industry challenges.

The session, titled “The State of the Electric Vehicle Service Equipment Industry,” began with an analysis of the current market trends shaping the EVSE industry, highlighting the rapid growth and increasing demand for reliable charging infrastructure. The speakers covered latest hardware and software innovations—emphasizing how technological advancements are enhancing the efficiency and scalability of EVSE solutions —while also providing a comprehensive overview of the regulatory landscape and discussing how various policies and regulations impact the industry and the opportunities they present for growth and development. The webinar also addressed critical industry challenges, such as scalability and interoperability issues, and explored potential solutions to overcome these obstacles.

As part of SkillFusion’s mission to enhance the EV-owner experience by increasing the number of certified labor technicians needed to maintain and repair EVSE technology, this webinar was a significant step towards empowering industry professionals with the knowledge and skills required to navigate the evolving EVSE landscape.
