Solving Downtime Across EV, Energy, and Connected Systems. Enabling the Workforce Behind the Electric Future.
Our Purpose
SkillFusion is improving infrastructure reliability across EV charging, battery energy storage, solar, and connected electrical systems by enabling the deployment of a certified, compliant, and scalable workforce that supports uptime across a rapidly evolving energy landscape.
By fusing specialized skills with real-world demand, our platform increases access to a localized, on-demand, and certified workforce, ensuring service providers have the right technician for every job, every time.
From upskilling to intelligent dispatch, SkillFusion’s industry-first approach provides operations and maintenance (O&M) service providers with access to a nationwide credentialed talent pool across multiple technologies. Through our cross-sector training and certification platform, SkillFusion is developing one of the most comprehensive pipelines of certified electricians and skilled technicians supporting EV, BESS, solar, and connected infrastructure systems.
The Genesis
As electrification accelerates, the infrastructure supporting EVs, energy storage, and distributed power systems is becoming more complex. Reliability challenges are no longer isolated to EV charging. They now extend across integrated energy systems that require continuous performance and uptime.
Federal and state requirements, including uptime expectations and grid reliability standards, are raising the bar for performance. At the same time, downtime continues to be driven by a shortage of skilled technicians trained to install, diagnose, and maintain these evolving systems.
This gap between infrastructure growth and workforce readiness is one of the most critical challenges facing the energy transition.
Background
SkillFusion’s approach provides technology-agnostic skill development and certification across EV charging, battery energy storage systems (BESS), solar, and connected electrical infrastructure. This creates a proprietary network of certified workers ready to support the growing demands of modern energy systems nationwide.
Our programs cover the full spectrum of capabilities required to support infrastructure operations, including licensed electricians, field technicians, and specialists in diagnostics, networking, communications, and system integration.
SkillFusion was founded on a shared commitment to advancing electrification and building a workforce capable of supporting it at scale. Co-founders Rue Phillips and Elaina Farnsworth connected in 2021 through initiatives focused on workforce development and community impact, including Make Hope Happen Foundation, Uplift San Bernardino, and Green Paradigm. Their work focused on opening pathways into careers across EV, energy, and infrastructure, while also developing confidence, communication, and long-term career readiness.
Today, that mission continues. Build the workforce that powers the next generation of infrastructure.

Key Features
Our MicroTraX platform offers flexible video-based and in-person training options, allowing professionals to enhance their skills.
Our approach breaks content down into “digestible” and on-demand segments that are deployed across different training pathways (called “TraX”), and are always aligned with sector’s ever-evolving technologies and standards.
Our partnerships with certification and credentialing providers allows MicroTraX to avoid “reinventing the wheel” by collaborating with others who possess existing expertise, research, and skills.
Our Platform
To ensure our ability to connect the right people with the job, SkillFusion has developed the most comprehensive set of competency training and credentials for both electrical and non-electrical skill sets on a global scale.
MicroTraX is the unique backbone of our approach to skill enhancement and professional development which focuses on upskilling, training, and certifying workers for service, operation, and maintenance.
